Level One: Foundations of Sociocracy
Our first level of training provides the basic understanding necessary for sociocratic organizing and meeting facilitation. The curriculum consists of six modules:
- Introduction to sociocratic principles
- Consent decision making
- Circle structure
- Double linking
- Workflow
- Leadership
All modules include a mix of practice sessions and exercises along with presentation of essential information, as well as providing time for participant questions and feedback.
This training is offered in a two day intensive/retreat format as well as in a flexible multi-session class format available in-person or on-line. Total contact time is a minimum of 12 hours. Level Two: Certified Sociocratic Practitioner
Certification as a Sociocratic Practitioner is the next level on the journey. Building on our Foundations of Sociocracy training, Level Two combines a workshop series and a Community of Practice experiential component. It is designed to provide a deepened understanding of Sociocracy fundamentals in theory and practice, as well as development of skills for facilitation, administration, and project management from a sociocratic perspective.

The Community of Practice is an experiential component incorporating real-world experience, mentoring, and measurement to integrate the training from workshops and assist in implementation.

On successful completion, participants receive certification by TSCG as a Sociocratic Practitioner.
This training also provides an educational foundation for further certification, including certifications offered by the Global Sociocratic Center (see below).
Level Three: Global Sociocratic Center Certifications
TSCG is a member of the Global Sociocratic Center (GSC) located in the Netherlands.
The GSC provides additional certifications in three areas of experiential professional mastery, which include:
- Certified sociocratic facilitator – focuses on facilitating sociocratic process for efficient meetings and participatory decision making.
- Certified sociocratic trainer – focuses on providing foundational and advanced sociocratic training for organizational development and/or public events.
- Certified sociocratic consultant – focuses on facilitation, training, implementation, and training the trainer in complex organizations.
These levels of certification require demonstrated real-world understanding and application of GSC standards defining theory and practice of sociocracy, as well as documented experience over time with one’s clients or one’s own organization. Fees for training, mentoring and support towards these certifications typically vary depending on certification sought, prior experience and other factors. Please contact us for more information.
