Professional Support Pays Off

My advice to organizations planning or implementing Dynamic Governance is to get assistance from a Dynamic Governance Consultant. Doing that improved and speeded up the process for us, rather than leaving us to reinvent the wheel, which can be time consuming and costly.

Creative Solutions & Good Vibes

What a valuable tool Dynamic Governance is. I have been working with Sheella Mierson, a gifted instructor of this process, and she is great! With only one of the techniques I learned from her we were able to cut through a thorny impasse in our Board and generate a creative solution with good vibes all around. WOW.

Easy, Efficient Delegation

Since we've adopted Dynamic Governance, it's much easier and more efficient for me to delegate. I'm able to receive information from the staff, the faculty, and all the different committees in a much more efficient fashion. I can't tell you how much more enjoyable my job is.

Incredible Results

I recommend Dynamic Governance. It's completely, really taken us by surprise. We didn't expect to adopt it, then we didn't expect to adopt it so quickly, and we had no idea the results would be so incredible. I would like to find a way to let more organizations know about it.

All voices heard

I was especially struck by how the structure of the meeting allowed all voices to be heard, and resisted any one person dominating the discussion. I have held leadership positions in several nonprofit organizations and work with nonprofits in my consulting business, so I have spent a lot of time in meetings! I think so many organizations -- not just nonprofits -- will find they can accomplish more, and more inclusively, using a sociocratic meeting model.

Better Model for the Children

We're always talking to the children about being creative. We're always wanting them to be inspired and to use their own intuition and creativity. Now they're seeing a much better model among the adults in the organization because we're being more creative and we're working together in a much better fashion than we were before.

Better Workload Balance

We are deeply concerned...about work/life balance...using Dynamic Governance, I led an effort to start cutting back on workload... As a result we work more effectively. Our enrollment this year is up 10%, much better than the rest of the university is doing, and we've just landed a $7 million dollar grant that will let us set up two more departments in the school.

An Innovative Community Leader

Before adopting sociocracy, Rainbow Community School had a flagging reputation and struggled to fill empty enrollment slots. Since adopting sociocracy, enrollment has almost doubled and there is a long waitlist. The size of its campus has doubled, and the school has gained a reputation for being an innovative community leader.

Effective Flow of Information

Dynamic Governance is very effective at creating flow of information between the broadest and the narrowest perspectives from which people work at the University.

Successful School, Wonderful Community

We have been using using Sociocracy (Dynamic Governance) since the inception of our school six years ago. It has greatly helped us build a wonderful community and a successful school.

Productive Give & Take

Dynamic Governance is very effective at creating a productive give-and-take between the manifold perspectives that exist in any university. The inner core of an organization can express itself more fully once the rigid categories of levels and hierarchies are abandoned in favor of a more integrated model.

Perfectly Suited to Deep Transformation

Sociocracy allowed the Institut français to develop by strengthening the commitment and cohesion of its personnel around its educational and community mission in a particularly difficult development context. Sociocracy allows a human relations management style perfectly suited to environments in deep transformation. Undoubtedly, this was the key to the success of the Institut français.

High Quality Employee Engagement

Recently, the University of Regina unveiled the results of a survey on employee engagement in its various faculties and units, the second of its kind in two years...the Institut distinguished itself not only by a high level of employee engagement, but especially by a high level of psychological safety, cooperation and individual citizenship behaviour towards their colleagues. We attribute these results largely to the Institut’s decision-making culture : dynamic governance (sociocracy). The dynamic governance premise is simple. You do not change the relationships in an organization by changing the leader or the organizational chart, but rather by changing the structure of communication and decision-making.
