Organizing Ourselves to Get Things Done: An Introduction to Sociocracy

July 20, 2019 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am
San Francisco, California

This interactive and engaging two hour introduction to the Sociocratic Circle-organization Method (SCM) is part of the Western Worker Cooperative Convening, July 20th, 2019, in the San Francisco Bay area.

The workshop will be led by TSCG founding member Sheella Mierson.

Learn a method of decision-making, governance, and project management where people at all organizational levels make policy decisions that govern their own work, and communication flows bottom-up as well as top-down.

Cooperatives in multiple countries use sociocratic governance, which deepens the democratic practices of the Rochdale Principles. Learn how to avoid the polarization that can come with win-lose majority voting, and give everyone a voice while maintaining operational efficiency and increasing productivity. And, make your meetings more effective and enjoyable! This experiential session will introduce you to the principles of the SCM, and give hands-on practice with consent decision-making.
